I was listening to Where We Belong by Hillsong this morning and talking the LORD. The thought came to me that in our culture we love musicians, bands & singers and certainly idolize them at times. Have you ever been to a concert where you wanted so badly to go backstage and meet the band? However, you don't have a pass - no access. Then it flashed through my mind, access! We've been given access! "The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom" Mark 15:38.
Yes, the Scriptures record that the curtain to the holy of holies was torn . . . top to bottom. This was the place that only the high priest entered once a year with blood from the sacrifice (see Hebrews 9). Now though, it is opened up because Jesus offered himself as the sacrifice . . . the Lamb of GOD who takes away the sin of the world! We have access to the Father to the Son and to the Holy Spirit - how much greater is that than any earthly band, singer? Enter in!
